Head of Turkish CAA, Mr. Ali Arıduru incites relatives and representatives of victims of the airplane crash over Baghdad to sue Moldovan CAA and Government and to shift the matter to international arena. Mr. Ali Arıduru, General Director of Civil Aviation in Turkey made a statement to press in Ankara on 19 September 2008. Mr. Arıduru’s statement was published on all daily newspapers in Turkey. Mr. Arıduru said in his statement regarding the delay in indemnification of the relatives of the victims and injured passengers of the Moldovan registered aircraft which crashed during final approach of a flight started with take-off from Adana airport located in southern Turkey on 09.01.2007.; “Aircraft Moldovan registered, manufacturer firm mixture of Ukraine and Russia, accident occurred in Iraq. But all lawyers sued Ministry of Transport and General Directorate of Civil Aviation. Totally 29 lawsuits were lodged against us. Main opponent on this subject (are) Government of Moldova, General Directorate of Moldova Civil Aviation, carrier company and insurance company. We told to sue them, we will speed up the process of your lawsuits at international arena. Including the company who got carried its workers, we were sued. Getting finalized is not possible.” Mr. Arıduru underlined that the lawsuits had to be moved to international arena and depicted that they would be able to shift the accident very easily to international arena in case the Government of Moldova should be sued. Mr. Arıduru also expressed that the accident investigation report of Atlasjet’s MD crash in Isparta was about to be completed and should be made public by the end of September.
